Talk Derby to Me!
On Saturday, May 3rd is the 151st running of the Kentucky Derby!
What better way to celebrate than with a derby crawl! Just 3 bars in the UTC/ Main Street area and all showing the races! If you cannot make it to the first locations, you can meet up with us, or also leave early if you need to!
We will start around 4:00 at McGraths!
McGrath’s Kitchen & Cocktails : 8110 Lakewood Main St, Lakewood Ranch, FL 34202 (Happy hours 3-6!)
At post time of races 10 (4:50) we walk to Pinchers!
Pinchers : 10707 Rodeo Dr., Lakewood Ranch, FL 34202
And Race 11 (5:39) we move to Ed’s Tavern and Sports!
Ed’s Tavern Lakewood Ranch: 10719 Rodeo Dr, Lakewood Ranch, FL 34202. At this last location we will watch the run for the roses at 6:57!
PLUS…wear your derby best for the occasion AND we will have a bookie on hand to “place your bets!” PLUS….if you cannot make it, you can place your bets online! Watch for our online “betting” coming soon as soon as we have the horses and odds! You can try and pick the winner for $5 per bet, hold on to those tickets! Half of all bets will go toward our Sarasota Club Parrothead Reef Ball, and the other half will be split among the winners (if no one chooses the winner, it all goes to our charity!)
Start getting your outfit ready, try a mint julep, and let’s have some race day phun! We will be holding tables so PLEASE let us know if you can make it!
